me and who??

The world is on fire, and the flames only seem to be growing - can hope be sparked within?

Feeling seen and seeing others is a form of survival. In solitude, one can feel like a raw nerve, exposed to the elements. Taking inspiration from lovers frozen in the volcanic ash of Pompeii, and infusing a modern day phrase that acts as an open call for anyone out there to be one’s willing and eager lover, “me and who??” evokes a desperate desire for a partner to weather the storm with, until the bitter and likely fiery end that our Earth is, in all likelihood, heading towards.

My interpretation of Dear Future
Humans are programmed for connection. Our brains crave it, and on a soul level, craving love is a part of our lives on this planet. Until we are collectively swallowed by the sun, love is a consummation devoutly to be wished.
