A Fingerprint Is A Galaxy Is A Time Machine

See time as it was, is, and will be. When considering the future it is prudent to think about what shapes it; the past, present, and possibilities. Explore the many ways time can be presented and imprinted; fingerprints, tree trunks, topographic maps, calendars, clocks, the evolution of our galaxy, and other interconnected keepers of time and space.

My interpretation of Dear Future
Time is layered so I wanted to represent those multitudes via this piece. This piece is a minimalist self-portrait that spans the first 40 years of my life. Each concentric oval represents a year. Each dot on select ovals signifies an event that occurred during a specific month within that year (ex. blue dot signifies birth in December [12th month on a calendar; 12 o’clock based on the 12 hour clock]). During those years and months I met key milestones as well as experienced hardships I worked/am working through. The colors of the rings correspond to the vibe of those years; red signifies danger, yellow represents milestones including graduations and turning ages that are regarded as important. The piece recalls fingerprints, tree trunks, topographic maps, calendars, clocks, and the evolution of our galaxy; keepers of time and space.
